A new review: Bunbuku Japanese Restaurant

Bunbuku is delicious. I tried their Teriyaki and Yakitori Chickens along with the shrimp and vegetable tempura.
Teriyaki Chicken:
Definitely the cleanest tasting teriyaki ive ever had. This stuff tastes cleaner than home made. The chicken itsself was quite good. Had there been any bones it would have been falling off of them. The chicken though served in solid chunk form was soft enough to push apart with the chopsticks. (for those who cannot use them there are also forks and knives provided standard)
Yakitori:
This is good yakitori. This is what it would probably taste like out of a stand in tokyo. The chicken is cooked well without drying out. The sauce is as good as that on the Teriyaki but there is one important difference. One can taste the fire in them. You can tell that they really are flame grilled rather than pan cooked. This is the best yakitori i have had to date.
Tenpura:
The batter was good. The vegetables were quite good. I am usually not willing to eat asparagus but with their tenpura it ended up being quite tasty. Their onions were so thin as to be almost non existant though. But they redeemed themselves with their shrimp and Sweet potato tenpura. Their shrimp is the second best I have had. The sweet potato is another thing which I normally will not eat but after trying it for the sake of this review i have to say it was delicious.
Decor and atmosphere:
And as everyone knows the perfect meal can be spoiled by simple noise level. I cannot speak for other times but when i went the noise level was 0. The place was empty.
The decor of the place is also quite nice. From the moment you walk in you know that you are in a locally owned and operated Japanese restaurant. There are all the standard decorations and then a few that if you look at them you may see that they are in fact hand made.

Overall: excelent restaurant 8 stars out of ten.

Location: Broadway, twixt Swan and Columbus, in the Beavers Band Box Shopping Center, west end
